Chihuahua Breeders

Reputable Chihuahua Breeders take great care not only about their own dogs, but also about those they have already sold, as they do not sever contacts with their clients, who keep them informed about the dog’s life. It is not just fast income that a responsible breeder is after, but the awareness of the breed’s current condition in terms of physical and mental health, which define the breed’s real value.

Chihuahua Breeders usually make sure that their dogs get into the right hands, so that they have a healthy and merry life. They never sell their Chihuahuas to those who are unable to care for their dogs for various reasons. Therefore, before selling Chihuahuas, they ask their prospective clients about their life modes and reasons why they think this is exactly the breed they want to have and if they are ready to take up this sort of responsibility.

In fact, Chihuahuas are not as easy to handle as some people think they are. The responsibility is often underestimated because of the dog’s diminutive size. More often than not, this makes some people think these dogs are just fine indoors and do not need to be walked. This is absolutely wrong. Chihuahuas are very active and boisterous by nature, and prolonged confinement may result in separation anxiety, which in turn can lead to noisy and destructive behavior. For this reason, Chihuahua Breeders do not sell their dogs to those whose occupation compels them to stay away from home for a long time.

Chihuahuas have very fragile bodies, so they are extremely prone to injuries. Puppies are particularly vulnerable, because their skulls have “moleras” – unclosed areas, where the brain is not protected. Usually, moleras close by maturity, but in some dogs, they remain open all the time. Chihuahua Breeders are often faced with birth difficulties in their dogs, because puppies are born with large heads, which often requires Caesarian Section.

Chihuahuas are very communicative and vivacious companions. However, they are quite sensitive and may get anxious should there be strangers in the house. These dogs are not recommended for families with small children, as Chihuahuas hate it when someone teases them and hence they may be snappish with teasing children. These dogs are territorial and therefore dog-aggressive. Chihuahua Breeders can suggest various training methods that usually work with the Chihuahua and can help prevent poor behavior.
